Construction Begins on Five Star Dunluce Lodge

Portrush's New Luxury Hotel

Construction has started on Portrush's new luxury hotel – the five star Dunluce Lodge on County Antrim's coast.  Described by its operator Valor Hospitality as the only five-star hotel within a 60-mile radius, the hotel will be built 'overlooking the famous 4th fairway at Royal Portrush Golf Club in Northern Ireland, with views of Portrush town, Donegal headlands and islands known as The Skerries'.

The 35-room hotel with luxury spa is the latest addition to Valor's international portfolio of luxury resorts including their 'most recent management agreement of the renowned Scores Hotel in St. Andrews, Scotland'.

When the company originally announced their Dunluce Lodge project in April 2022, Valor's Brian McCarthy commented: “We’re very excited about our plans for The Dunluce Lodge, not only for what it means for Valor’s growth, but also the opportunities it will bring to The Royal Portrush Golf Club and local area. With its five-star status, this resort will attract visitors from all over, and with our experience in managing luxury resorts around the globe, including golf projects in South Africa and in the U.S., we’re more than ready to apply our expertise to our first development in Northern Ireland.

Expected to create 80 jobs once complete, the hotel will be a welcome addition to the attractive peninsula town and is likely to provide significant economic benefit to the wider area.  With Portrush already accustomed to welcoming international golfing visitors, Dunluce Lodge is likely to become a destination hotel ahead of 2025 when The Open Championship returns to The Royal Portrush Golf Club.
