Hayfield Manor Owners to Develop 5 Star Donnybrook Hotel
Plans Submitted for 195 Bedroom Luxury Hotel & Spa
Cork hoteliers, Joe & Margaret Scally, have confirmed plans (as reported here in The Times) to develop St Mary's College in Donnybrook, Dublin (D4) in to a luxury hotel with 195 bedrooms and a spa. After originally purchasing the property in early 2018 for a reported €16m, the 3 acre site is likely to receive a €50m investment with finance already in place.
With their Hayfield Family Collection comprising two four star hotels (Killarney Royal and Great Southern Killarney) and one five star hotel (Hayfield Manor), the Scally family felt it was the right time to expand beyond the Cork region and bring their expertise to the Dublin market.
The development is further good news for the luxury hotel market in Ireland, following hot on the heels of Adare Manor's announcement this week that they will be hosting the 2026 Ryder Cup.
