Lignum Restaurant

Loughrea, County Galway

About Lignum

Set in a beautifully converted barn in rural County Galway, Lignum is a Michelin-starred restaurant offering tasting menus and Sunday lunches. Lignum, latin for 'wood', is a nod to the focal point of their kitchen – a wood burning oven.

From Lignum's Website:

'Lignum’s goal is to showcase the quality and diversity of ingredients from the wonderful people who raise, grow and produce them.

The centrepiece of our kitchen is a wood burning oven where we cook over raw flames. This allows us to give a nod to the historic food culture of our area while growing and creating something new.

You won’t find a menu on our website as our food is always on the move, keeping up with our amazing suppliers and growers and what they have to offer. In our ‘larder’ section we have a list of seasonal ingredients that will feature throughout our current menu.

In our dining room you will find bare wooden tables and original barn exposed walls.

Our service reflects the style of food – refined but relaxed and a dining experience that’s unpretentious and fun'.
